Number One. 1976.
Two little girls hide in the boys' bathroom at school so they can find out
what happens there. When two boys come in, the four gradually talk each
other into taking off their clothes. The principal catches them, and
angrily berates them for what they've been up to, warning them that
he'll have to tell their parents about the incident. Later repercussions
are seen as parents of three of them separately discuss and fight about
what has happened, with some taking a winking attitude of their child's
discovery and others battling about how to react. Returning to school
poses an additional challenge, as everyone has found out what has gone
on.

Putkinotko / Children of the Wilderness. 1954.
FI. Teuvo Tuliolta vaikutteita ottaneiden melodraamojen ja sotilasfarssien
jälkeen Roland af Hällström ohjasi neljä merkittävää
klassikkokirjallisuuden filmatisointia, joita voi pitää
ohjaaja-käsikirjoittajan päätöinä. Ensimmäisenä valmistui Joel Lehtosen
Putkinotkon (1920) elokuvasovitus, jota seurasi Putkinotkoa monessa
muistuttanut Ilmari Kianto -filmatisointi Ryysyrannan Jooseppi (1955),
F. E. Sillanpään samannimisen kuuluisimman teoksen filmatisointi Poika
eli kesäänsä (1955) ja vielä Minna Canth -sovitus Lain mukaan (1956).
Näistä Putkinotko ja Ryysyrannan Jooseppi nousevat omaan luokkaansa.
Viime vuosisadan alussa lähellä Savonlinnaa asuvan Käkriäisen perheen
elämästä yhden päivän ajalta kertova Putkinotko on tarina rähjäisistä,
köyhistä ja sivistymättömistä metsäläisistä. Juutas (Matti Lehtelä),
perheen pää, on ulkonäöltään koko perheestä kaikkein räjähtänein, niin
likaisen näköinen, että melkein hänet voi haistaakin. Valtaosan vuodesta
Juutas on saamaton vätys, joka kyllä rakastaa vaimoaan (Elvi Saarnio)
ja eritoten monia lapsiaan, mutta viihtyy parhaiten yksin ja omilla
reissuillaan.
Käkriäisen perheen elanto tulee viinan trokaamisesta, mutta rähjäisen mökkinsä he ovat saaneet vuokralle siitä hyvästä, että
huolehtivat tilasta ja samassa pihapiirissä sijaitsevasta
päärakennuksesta, jonne äveriäs kaupunkilaismies Muttinen (Pentti
Viljanen) aina silloin tällöin saapuu kesää viettämään – tänään vieläpä
fiinin naisystävänsä (Hillevi Rautio) kanssa. Juutas ei ole pestistä
erityisen innoissaan, koska pelkää häätöä eikä muutenkaan tunnu olevan
halukas tekemään työtä toisen hyväksi.
Putkinotkon päivä on toimintaa täynnä. Muttisen visiittiä ennen vaimo ja lapset ehtivät käydä
kaupungissa ja Juutas jauho-ostoksilla, myöhemmin illalla käydään
saunomassa ja vielä sen jälkeen laskemassa verkkoja. Pelkästään
Juutaksen jauhokaupoista on saatu hyvin yksinkertaisella tavalla tehtyä
loistavaa viihdettä, eikä vaimon asiointi apteekissa ole yhtään sen
tylsempää katseltavaa. Kaupungissa käydessään vaimo yrittää yhdessä
veljensä (Ari Laine) kanssa miettiä, miten Juutaksen saisi suostumaan
pontikankeittoon.

Passion Despair. 2011.
Steff Gruber's documentary film portrays the Swiss photographer Daniel
Leuenberger, who lives in Moldova and specialises in photographing girls
aged between 9 and 14.
Daniel has caused much controversy with the photos of his models which he sells via the Internet. Daniel's critics
base their argument above all on the fact that the majority of his
customers are pedophiles.
Daniel Leuenberger too finds himself marginalised and pushed to the edge. In the film he talks about how he
deals with his feelings, about prejudice and about his work as a
photographer of girls. The film raises questions of how images are used
and their effects in a world increasingly dominated by the media.
In addition to Daniel's work as a portrait photographer, the film
concentrates on the daily struggle for survival of Moldovan families and
life in the officially non-existent neighbouring state of Transnistria.
The small state, in which half a million people live, is hermetically
sealed off from the outside world. Police and secret service are
omnipresent; any opposition is nipped in the bud. The film shows how the
mostly fatherless families in these two countries find ways to survive.
The film premiered at the Gdansk Dokfilm Festival 2011.

Den Åttonde dagen / The Eighth Day. 1979.
SE. Ända sedan förra sommaren har den tolvåriga Anna väntat på Pejter --
väntat och väntat i ett helt år, berättar hon i inre monolog.
Men när den krullhårige Pejter anländer med båten för att bo hos pappa en vecka
(mamma har semester), vågar Anna nästan inte tala med honom. Hon följer
honom på avstånd, när han med en tung väska vandrar vägen till pappa.
Det är han som börjar tala med henne. Han ger henne en pärla som hon
till synes motvilligt tar emot.
Anna har kommit hem. Hon gråter i smyg och är arg på sig själv. Ilskan går ut över familjen. Värst drabbas
lillebror som förundras över att hon är arg jämt. Över honom häller hon
en balja vatten.
Anna är på stranden i skymningen. Hon ser ett par tonåringar närma sig, Mariette och en kille med kassettspelare. Mariette
visar brösten för honom och berättar att killen med krullet kommit
tillbaka. De upptäcker att de är iakttagna av Anna som för att freda sig
ger Mariette pärlan. När Anna berättar att hon fått den av Pejter,
kastar Marietta ut den i vattnet. Vad brukar ni hålla på med? frågar
Mariette, dra ner brallorna? Du är för liten för sånt, säger Mariette.
Killen med krullet ska få ångra sig.
Anna springer i väg gråtfärdig. Tonåringarna skrattar.
EN. Children as real human individuals with the difficulties this involves.
Anna and Peiter are 11 years old. Peiter's parents are divorced. Only
for one week a year does he live with his father, on the same island as
Anna. The children have been friends for years. But this year (because
of beginning puberty?) they have difficulty in getting in real touch.
Day after day they fail. - Outside a café Peiter boasts that he can do
everything. Anna tells him to fetch the thing she is thinking of. He
goes inside, asks a guest to rise and brings his chair to Anna. This was
indeed the right thing, and this chair will re-appear in other scenes.
Another day Peiter boasts that he is not afraid of being locked up in a
desolate tower for a few hours. Anna closes the lock on the outside. But
her parents prevent her from going out again and Peiter remained alone
in the tower for the entire night. -Finally all seven days have gone and
the gap that prevented full contact is still not closed. Though when
time is up Peiter is permitted to stay for one more day. And during 'the
eighth day' (the Swedish name of the film) they succeed.

Die Jahre vergehen. 1980. 2 episodes.
Die Jahre vergehen ist ein österreichisch-deutscher Fernsehfilm von Peter
Keglevic. Der Zweiteiler wurde am 29. Juni und 6. Juli 1981 im ZDF
uraufgeführt.
Teil 1. Gregor Nadolny ist 30 Jahre alt und Touristikmanager. Er war mit seiner zehn Jahre alten Tochter Anna in
Italien und sie befinden sich beide auf der Rückfahrt. Seine Tochter hat
Fieber. Trotzdem will er nicht nach Hamburg, seinem Wohn- und
Arbeitsort, sondern nach Pfauen. Dort hat er vor 20 Jahren einen
glücklichen Sommer bei seinen Stiefgroßeltern verbracht und möchte seine
alte Liebe wiedersehen.
Teil 2. Gregor Nodolny trifft in Pfauen Bekannte aus Kindertagen wieder, wobei „ wirklich wichtig … die
Begegnungen mit den beiden Kinderfreunden von damals“ sind: So seine
alte Liebe Ada, und den Jungen Ila.
Georg, Ada und Ila unternahmen als Kinder in Pfauen viele Dinge miteinander: So tanzten sie
miteinander. Dann saßen sie unter einem gedeckten Tisch und tranken ein
„Maß“. Als Ila auf dem Feld eine weiße Flagge vor sich her trug, liefen
Ada und Georg ihm hinterher oder beteten kniend miteinander in der
Kirche.
Zwischen Georg und Ada entwickelte sich eine Zuneigung. Die beiden waren viel in der Natur. Sie halfen bei der Feldarbeit, wo beide
einen Korb mit einer Mahlzeit für die Feldarbeiter auf das Feld
brachten. Später wurden sie vom Regen überrascht und suchten gemeinsam
Schutz „unter einer Decke“ Sie gingen in eine Scheune. Ein Bild zeigt
beide im Stroh liegend, sich umarmend, während Gregor sich über Ada
beugt. Die Kinder „sind verwirrt von ihren Gefühlen“. Am Ende stehen
beide in Anzug und weißem Kleid nebeneinander. Georg verliebte sich in
Ada und wollte sie heiraten. Später jedoch heiratet er eine andere Frau,
vergleicht seine Ehefrau jedoch mit seiner Kinderliebe, die er nach
zwanzig Jahren wiedertrifft.

SE. Du måste förstå att jag älskar Fantomen är en TV-serie med manus och
regi av Christina Nilsson efter hennes pjäs. Serien sändes ursprungligen
i SVT2 i fem delar mellan 28 december 1981 och 1 januari 1982.
Serien kretsar kring Toffe, en pojke som nyligen har fyllt sju år och går på
dagis. Toffe saknar sin pappa som han sällan träffar efter föräldrarnas
skilsmässa. Både hemma och på dagis är han bråkig och utåtagerande.
Handlingen utspelar sig till stor del i badrummet där Toffe leker och
fantiserar att han är lika stark som Fantomen. I scenerna på dagis
skildras gräl och samhörighet med kamrater, men även slagsmål om
leksaker och samlagslekar. Relationen med mamman handlar främst om bråk
och försoning i badrummet. Toffes fantasier gestaltas med ett formspråk
med estetiska effekter och specialeffekter så att tittarna förstår att
det bara är fantasier.

Soft, sensual cinematography abounds in this erotic look back at a gypsy
girl's coming of age. It is based on a popular novel penned by famed
Hungarian novelist Peter Esterhazy using the pseudonym Lili Csokonai and
represents 'Lili's" autobiography. In the film, Lili has lost her legs
in a terrible accident. An extraordinary beauty, she spends a miserable
wheelchair-bound life stranded in her apartment and forced to satisfy
her husband's sexual whims. It is only through her diary that she finds
comfort. Therein, she remembers her one great love, a dashing salesman
who introduced the adolescent girl to all of life's sensual pleasures.
Like a spoiled housecat, Lili comes to expect, demand that her lover
Marton continue to satisfy her unending thirst for comfort, passion and
love. When she discovers that he is engage to another she refuses to let
go. Afterward she learns about another type of love with her beautiful
