ES. "La miel" cuenta la historia de un sacerdote que ejerce la profesión de maestro, Don Agustín. El profesor siente especial predilección por un alumno, Paco, no obstante las travesuras que éste suele cometer. El niño es listo, pero necesita una ayuda extra si quiere estudiar una carrera, así que su madre convence a su antiguo profesor para que le de clases particulares, algo que está prohibido en el colegio. Don Agustín acaba accediendo, por las súplicas de la madre y también por la presión de su hermana, aunque al final confunde la verdadera intención de ir a casa del joven. No es tanto por el afán pedagógico que se dirige hasta allí, sino por la atracción que despierta por la madre del niño, interpretada por Jane Brikin, una mujer de dudosa profesión. Imaginen el escándalo de la época, un sacerdote que asiste casi prohibidamente a casa de un alumno y termina casándose con una supuesta prostituta.

Full movie title: 日本殉情伝 おかしなふたり ものくるほしきひとびとの群 夕子悲しむ / Nihon junjô-den Okashina futari Monokuruoshiki hitobito no mure.
Based on the comic book by Jūzō Yamasaki and Kei Sadayasu.
The central story revolves around a love triangle between a loan shark, his wife, and their childhood friend who is recently released from jail, but it was told from a fourth-person perspective, an unreliable narrator (at the end of the film it implies the story is an imaginative fabrication of the narrator). There’s a subplot about a seaside cinema having its last show, playing Shima Koji’s 1952 film Shanghai gaeri no Lil, with the then-retired leading man playing a part in this film, thus further blurring the margin between the real and the fabrication. The film is imbued with Obayashi’s idiosyncratic narrative device, absurd slapstick humour, extravagant use of colours (the bright red and blue suits worn by the two leads for instance).

Jauche und Levkojen. 1979. Episode 5.
DE. Jauche und Levkojen ist ein Fernseh-Mehrteiler aus dem Jahre 1978, der von der Bavaria Atelier GmbH produziert wurde. Er basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Roman von Christine Brückner. Die Erstausstrahlung fand am 14. August 1978 im Ersten statt.
Der Mehrteiler schildert die ersten drei Lebensjahrzehnte der Maximiliane Irene von Quindt, die 1917 in der Endphase des Ersten Weltkrieges im Hotel Adlon gezeugt wurde, und im August des letzten Kriegsjahres auf dem im Besitz ihres Großvaters befindlichen Gut Poenichen in Pommern geboren wird (Drehort im Film ist Gut Sierhagen). Ihren Vater lernt sie nie kennen, da dieser an der Westfront fällt. Ihre aus Berlin stammende Mutter Vera, die mit dem Kind nichts anfangen kann, lässt das Kleinkind bald auf dem Gut der Großeltern zurück, um sich wieder in das Großstadtleben zu stürzen. Sie heiratet einen jüdischen Psychoanalytiker, der aus Wien nach Berlin gekommen war. Als dies in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus gefährlich wird, reist ihr Schwiegervater zu ihr nach Berlin und verschuldet sich tief, um ihr die Flucht aus Deutschland zu ermöglichen. Maximiliane aber wächst – als Stammhalterin für das Adelsgeschlecht – bei den alten Quindts in Poenichen auf.
Die Episode "Wildwuchs" ist die 5. Episode der 1. Staffel der Serie Jauche und Levkojen.
Wie ihre Erzieherinnen, verliebt sich Maximiliane in Blaskorken. Der Inspektor nimmt ihre Schwärmerei nicht ernst und reagiert auch nicht auf die naiven Annäherungsversuche des halbwüchsigen Mädchens. Dem alten Quindt bleiben die Gefühlsverwirrungen seiner Enkelin nicht verborgen.

Number One. 1976.
Two little girls hide in the boys' bathroom at school so they can find out what happens there. When two boys come in, the four gradually talk each other into taking off their clothes. The principal catches them, and angrily berates them for what they've been up to, warning them that he'll have to tell their parents about the incident. Later repercussions are seen as parents of three of them separately discuss and fight about what has happened, with some taking a winking attitude of their child's discovery and others battling about how to react. Returning to school poses an additional challenge, as everyone has found out what has gone on.

The frustrations of a constipated wife and her impotent husband are explored in this experimental film that was originally a video tape. The eccentric couple are quite frustrated by their bodies. Throughout the film many bizarre things happen. For example, to teach their children about sex, they do it right in front of them. The grandparents also talk to the camera buck naked.

A 12-year old boy (Isham Samzudeen) is accused of the murder of one Courtseen. His father was a retired judge (Ravindra Randeniya) and his mother (Piyumi Samaraweera) was also a famous magistrate. The movie depicted a controversial scene where child and his mother both get into a bathtub nude. After the child overcomes the initial shock of seeing her mother completely nude, insists on breastfeeding - a request which then the mother forcefully turns down. The film was banned due to issues of incest, murder, rape and contempt of court.

Ángeles y Querubines / Angels and Cherubs. 1972.

Ángeles y Querubines is the first feature directed by Rafael Corkidi, cinematographer of such visual masterpieces as El Topo and The Holy Mountain. This surreal Mexican fantasy shows influences of Alejandro Jodorowsky as you would expect, and also of the style of Kenneth Anger, and the darker side of Czech “fairy tale” cinema. Visuals are rich and original, the music less so but still a pleasure. Overall it’s rather mellower than the typical “head trip” film of the early ‘seventies which seemed to revel in causing shock and offence. I found it an absolute delight.
The prelude is set in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve played by the director’s infant children. It’s gender-reversed with Eve arriving first, which is probably significant. After ten minutes, just as you might be starting to seriously question what you have downloaded, we move on to the main story, introduced by a biblical quotation: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them”.
We find ourselves in a castle, or perhaps a convent judging by the number of nuns around. A gathering of the ruling family appears to be taking place. An eclectic mix of costumes suggests no particular time and place. We meet our young hero Cristian (Jorge Humberto Robles), a fine young fellow, clean, upstanding, dare I say it even virginal.
Actually it’s safest if I don’t try to set out the plot, except to say that we seem to have an allegory of a Pilgrim, or Grail Knight, who one day leaves the convent garden and meets, falls in love with, and pursues to the ends of the Earth the beautiful Angela (Helena Rojo). So are the young couple to live happily ever after? Or will our hero be condemned to an eternity of shirt-ripping Byronic frustration?
Unfortunately the picture quality is dire as you can see. I’m almost certain it’s not supposed to be that tint. And the border jumps around in a distracting way. Nevertheless this is still a must for lovers of fantasy cinema.

first post-war year. Klava, who lost her husband at the front, with her
12-year-old daughter Lyusya sheltered Aygul with a seven-year-old boy in
her house. Aygul's son - the main character, now became a pilot,
recalls his childhood in a small Kazakh city, which fell on a difficult
post-war time. Flying high above the Earth, he thinks of the Russian
girl Lyusya, from his distant past.

EN. There are a small number of people for whom imagery and symbolism alone are sufficient reason to watch an otherwise
difficult film such as this one. In the story, a boy, a woman and a cow
seem to be the only survivors of a global catastrophe, except for
whoever is following them threateningly in a tank. Slowly they put
together what they need to survive, and despite the difficulty of all
this, it looks as though the human race may just manage a new beginning.
This simple, darkly imaged story is told with a very minimal amount of
dialog. Sci-Fi and action fans may find the film disappointing, but
conoisseurs of metaphor may find what they are looking for here.

Gracious Curves / Naisenkaari. 1997.
At the age of 46 the Finnish director Kiti Luostarinen philosophises about
the question what it means to live in a female body and what it is like
to develop from a girl to a woman, to bloom, to age and eventually to
die. At her age she can review her mother‘s life, feel herself grow
older and see her daughter change into a woman. In her documentary,
Luostarinen may present as many as fifty Finnish women from 4 to 90
years old, but the tone remains essayistic. She does not use any
so-called experts or obligatory interview fragments. Luostarinen
approaches the subject from a personal angle. With sufficient self-irony
and a great sense of humour she acts as the narrator. Both young girls
and elderly women tell about their experiences and feelings,
concentrating on the development from girl to grandmother. At times she
interrupts her film essay with fictitious scenes, in which she makes an
ironical plea in favour of the iron brassiere and a woman cherishes her
extracted fat in a preserving jar. Expanding hips, flabby buttocks and
sagging breasts are usually camouflaged, but Luostarinen demonstrates
the beauty of round tummies, because: ‘Oldness liberates you of false
belief‘.
